My background has absolutely nothing to do with art. After a long and crazy career in the collections and repossession industry, i decided to try my hand at being an artist. Because of my love for antique and rustic furniture i developed a respect and fascination for wood and the ways it could be used.
Since 2005, I have been making artistic handmade wooden bowls, plates, drinking vessels, trophies, custom pistol grips and other functional pieces of art.

A wood-turned object begins as a rough block of wood. I choose the wood based on size and color. Each Individual piece of wood determines what that particular block is going to become: a pen, a tray, a bowl, etc. There are several steps involved in the woodturning process, such as cutting, shaping, sanding and finishing.
Woodturning has been very satisfying for me. I have found great fulfillment in experimenting with new woods and complex projects, as well as providing my clients with innovative and imaginative pieces.
I enjoy traveling by motorcycle and discovering new people, places and customs. Oft times, shapes I see on the trip will stick with me and later come to light in my sketch book or just standing at the lathe with a fresh blank and a sharp bowl gouge in hand.
